Optometrist

Provide comprehensive quality eye care

• Provide hands-on care while achieving the highest levels of appropriateness, quality, efficiency, accessibility and responsiveness in a high volume private practice
• Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or AMD
• Diagnose, manage, and treat conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system
• Examine eyes and visual system, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide treatment
• Prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions
• Maintain knowledge of relevant medications and non-pharmaceutical patient care aides
• Analyze test results and develop a treatment plan

Qualifications

• Ability to work at a fast pace environment

• Current unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of California
• Spanish speaking
• Current controlled substance certificate
• Training appropriate to practice
• Excellent customer care skills
• Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of quality eye care, evaluations, diagnosis and treatment
• Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
• Knowledge of relevant medications and non-pharmaceutical patient care aides
• Ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment
• Strong ocular disease background preferred
