Summary:

Conduct materials and product testing of incoming materials, work in progress materials and finished goods product to ensure they consistently meet customer requirements and PAC standards.


Shift Details: 1st Shift

Shift Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm

Shift Days: Monday- Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Test incoming materials, following PAC procedures, to ensure they meet PAC specifications
  • Test incoming Finished Goods, following PAC procedures, to ensure they meet PAC specifications
  • Test in process materials and products, following PAC procedures, to ensure they meet PAC specifications
  • Efficient and effective in the use of Laboratory testing equipment
  • Ensure test equipment is functioning properly and calibrated. Calibrate equipment as needed.
  • Assist in training floor QA Techs on the proper methods to test materials
  • Accurately and timely completion of sales, customer service, production and management testing requests
  • Provide timely and accurate Quality related reports as requested by Supervision and Management
  • Back up support for floor Quality Technicians. Including vacation coverage. Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct First Off production line inspections. (Checklist of items will be provided)
  • Conduct in process product quality checks (Checklist of items will be provided)
  • Processing product and materials that fail to meet the quality standards. (Place the sub-standard product/material on QA Hold, generate the necessary documents, and oversee the moving of the sub-standard product/material to the quarantine area.)
  • Enter all inspection data on the computer system.
  • Retain testing samples and manage the filing of retains
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints.
  • Provide production associates with labels as needed.
  • Promote, encourage and support the ISO 9001 based Quality Management System.
  • Promote, encourage and support Continuous Improvement efforts
  • Must work safe at all time
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred

Language/Communication Skills:

  • Must be capable of speaking, reading and writing English with good written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret general quality procedures and test methods.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals using a calculator.
  • Ability to read ruler.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Excellent attention to detail, quality, safety, problem solving and follow-up.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be able to input inspection data in database software
  • Familiarity with MS Office required

The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee must be able to work overtime with short notice. Because Quality is a small department, there are no extra employees to cover absenteeism.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The noise level in the environment is moderate.
