The Role

This position is responsible for the monitoring, proactive management and recovery of PACCAR computing systems, network, and applications to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements. The Enterprise Command Center (ECC) also monitors the data center critical facilities infrastructure, provides video surveillance and manages security/access to the building and computer room. A IT Operations Analyst plays a critical role on a global team that is responsible for ensuring the health and availability of PACCAR’s business critical applications. This is a non-exempt position that may be asked to provide additional coverage on a different shift to include weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary.


This position is for the 2nd shift and includes additional differential pay as well as a hybrid work schedule.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor, perform proactive management and recovery procedures on PACCAR computing systems, network, and applications
  • Install Microsoft Updates and manually reboot servers with special dependencies
  • Install and remove IT equipment in the Computer Room according to data center standards and best practices
  • Ensure accurate and efficient execution of activities such as maintenance and recovery tasks
  • May serve as Critical Incident Manager to coordinate recovery efforts for critical events
  • Interface with IT infrastructure and applications teams to develop and implement processes and procedures to optimize the global support model
  • Design and implement recovery procedures for the PACCAR IT Knowledge Base
  • Perform proactive measures for the improvement of operational efficiency and increase ECC incident resolution rates
  • Provide off-hours Help Desk support

Required Experience & Skills

  • 2 years hands-on IT technical experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask within a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate clearly with team members, technical support groups, and management
  • Able to perform advanced troubleshooting techniques and recovery procedures on Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 using a variety of server administration tools
  • Functional knowledge IT Infrastructure components – storage, network, structured cabling
  • Operational knowledge of applications: WUG, SCOM, SCCM, vSphere, NetBackup
  • Able to correlate alerts to scheduled activity; able to correlate multiple alerts to a single root cause
  • Script development (PowerShell) to execute routine systems management and recovery tasks is preferred
  • Familiarity with Critical Incident and Problem Management processes
  • Familiar of AS/400, z/OS, UNIX, Linux is preferred


Education

  • Undergraduate degree in IT, Computer Science or related field desired
  • MCSE: Server, CCNA and/or CCNP certification(s) desired
  • MTA: IT Infrastructure and/or MCSA: Server certification(s) required
  • CCT, CCENT and/or Network certification(s) required

  • Lifting up to 55 pounds
  • Team lifting large objects such as servers using lifting equipment
