Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. a suburb of Dallas. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium- and heavy-duty truck parts sold under Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. Requisition Summary
Dynacraft is looking for a self-motivated and energetic teammate to join the quality team as a Quality Specialist located in our McKinney, TX facility. A Quality Specialist has a wide variety of roles ranging from administrative, record-keeping, and report writing to hands-on manufacturing support work and physical handling of non-conforming product, returned goods and suspect material. The Quality Specialist spends a significant amount of time resolving problems and communicating important information to Dynacraft's customers, suppliers, and employees. In addition, the Quality Specialist will participate in important technical quality work such as process behavior studies, data analysis, part measurements, tool & fixture validation, equipment calibration, equipment upkeep and warranty analysis.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for the application, evaluation, development, project management, commissioning, and system management of manufacturing industrial automation and control systems. The ideal candidate is experienced in Lean Manufacturing and is proactive in taking action in leading quality improvement and will have demonstrated success in making lasting improvements. Fact-based decision making is a requirement for success.
- Read, understand, and stay current with Dynacraft and PACCAR standard procedures
- Help develop and execute quality system objectives
- Communicate with suppliers, customers and Dynacraft employees regarding customer complaints and suspect material
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Dynacraft's Quality Management System, manufacturing processes and business processes
- Inspect material and discuss findings with quality team
- Audit manufacturing and production processes
- Perform calibration and manage calibration devices
- Calculate metrics and write concise reports, typically with significant graphical content
- Provide support including calibration & validation, material review, returned goods handling, handling of customer complaints and document control
- Track NCPs and drive them to closure.
- Perform other duties as determined by customer need and workload
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive attitude
- Proficient using SAP and familiar with a wide range of SAP transaction codes
- General ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- 2-4 years of manufacturing experience in production/distribution/inventory/materials or other related discipline
- Team player who can work cross functionally with other departments in the plant
- Ability to work independently and stay on task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment without direct supervision
- Detail oriented, reliable, have a good sense of urgency, be ethically minded and quality focused
- Safely lift materials up to 35 lbs.
- Must possess PC based computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Education
- Highschool Diploma Required
- Lean Manufacturing Experience Preferred
