Position Overview: This position is responsible for providing services to girls that include intensive daily case management needs, familial and crisis counseling and leads psycho-educational groups by performing the following duties:
Role and Responsibilities
- Counsels girls whose behavior, school progress, or mental or physical condition indicates need for assistance.
- Role models for staff appropriate strategies decided upon to effect change in the behavior of girls.
- Provides training and skill building materials to staff to increase the gender competence of staff in their role and interaction with girls.
- Ensures outcome measures compliance in the girl’s reported progress.
- Attends field trips and other extracurricular activities and acts as lead person for these activities as required.
- Provides support and direction for girls participating in the program.
- Works in partnership with girls and their families to find a common approach to problem solving, crisis counseling and intervention.
- Provides counseling and peer mediation in crisis situations.
- Ensures the integration of the Six Developmental Domains and Gender Responsive programming in daily practices.
- Prepares for and participates in care review meetings and may facilitate care review meetings.
- Prepares for and facilitates monthly parent/guardian contacts.
- Sources outsides services and ensures the services are responsive to the individual needs of the girls based on their assessment.
- Ensures girls are transported and cared for in a safe environment (including escorting to bus stop), if needed, based on the individual Center needs.
- Leads group counseling sessions to enhance social development of individual students and provides peer support in areas such as grief, stress, abuse or chemical dependency.
- Uses ETO to document in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Pace policies and regulatory agency standards.
- Participates in the intake interview to assess the needs of each girl and family, collaborates with in-take team and may help make decisions about placement into the program.
- Coordinates care management and referral services for students and families during program enrollment.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Required

Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University with a Major in counseling, social work, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field

Minimum three years prior experience
- Knowledge of case management practices and excellent therapeutic counseling skills and crisis management skills
- Minimum experience using personal computers and basic office equipment
- Current Florida driver’s license

- Follows policies and procedures of the Agency
- Must work evenings and weekends as required to fulfill workload requirements.
- Must be able to travel by automobile, plane, train, etc.; occasional overnight travel may be required
