Job Description
SUMMARY:
Provide expertise in software design and architecture. Ability to influence decisions around
systems integration and solutions selection.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document
and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.
1. Drives selection of technical solutions by providing architectural design and direction.
2. Assists the development team in designing optimal environmental lab specific.
3. software solutions by employing efficient architecture.
4. Works closely with IT Leadership in defining a broad software design and
development direction of highly complex projects.
5. Designs, develops and maintains Pace's software applications, providing strategic
operational and competitive functionality.
6. Researches and promotes methodologies, tools, workflow processes, architecture,
and technologies.
7. Maintains currency and expertise of technical and domain knowledge.
8. Researches and evaluates industry trends, APIs, upgrades and frameworks to ensure
effective and efficient operational capabilities.
9. Leads project teams (Business and IT) to define, design, develop, and implement
applications and surrounding processes; engages with departments to achieve
process improvements, systems capability and cost-efficiency.
10. Provide high-level effort estimations for conceptual project approach and
development.
11. Develops strategic alliances with business counterparts to understand business
processes and challenges; listening for opportunities where IT can automate
workflow or create competitive advantages.
12. Provide leadership of code review, ensuring projects meet application architectural
objectives; define design and code guidelines and standards.
13. Ensures application development meets architectural guidelines and business
requirements.
14. Provides Help Desk and production support of software applications.
15. Oversees testing metrics and processes; ensures metrics are integrated within build
and deployment process.
16. Mentors others in team building best practices; transparency, trust, code reviews,
documentation.
17. Oversees production release pipeline and provides technical review, suggestions, and
assistance for production release.
18. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a variety of individuals
contacted in the course of the work. Ability to influence others as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software architecture or a
related field; AND fifteen (15) years of professional technical architecture, systems integration,
and software design/development, with five (5) years in architecture and influence of solutions
selection; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; lab industry
experience is a plus.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active
status without suspension or revocation.
