What are the responsibilities and job description for the Access Control position at PACEM?
SUMMARY: Performs protective and enforcement functions in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances, and threats to life and property to maintain a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors and ensure the safety of company/customer assets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies situations where security violations have occurred and takes reasonable and prudent action to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and company/customer assets.
- Performs scheduled and random inspection of physical premises to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions; observes, cautions, instructs, corrects, investigates, and reports persons or incidents involving suspected break-ins, tampering, vandalism, thefts, or property damage.
- Maintains watch at company gates and access controlled points; admits or denies access as directed by company management or security supervision; issues temporary badges and identification and provides directions as needed.
- Provides immediate response to all emergency situations including but not limited to structural and brush fires, medical emergencies, confined space rescue, undesirable conduct, violations of company policies or civil laws, and hazardous material incidents; assists until proper authorities arrive.
- Monitors property being removed from restricted buildings or company premises to ensure proper authorization.
- Monitors security and fire protection systems and equipment; tests, documents, and makes recommendations relative to premises security and fire suppression systems to ensure system and equipment readiness.
- Documents and reports any irregularity, incident, or emergency actions concerning safety and security.
- Checks packages and identification; questions and/or detains unauthorized persons without proper ID or those found in restricted areas.
- Interfaces with local law enforcement and security agencies as situations require.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years related experience or equivalent.
- General knowledge of security procedures/methods and fire safety.
- CPR and First Aid Training preferred.
- Patrolling and report writing experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing
priorities with enthusiasm
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
- Strong interpersonal skills.
