The Quality Manager is part of the facility management team and collaboratively supports the company strategic plan. The Quality Manager is responsible for Food Safety and Quality through planning, coordinating, training, and implementing the food safety and quality programs in all areas of the Portland facility. The Quality Manager manages and actively participates in the necessary work within several areas of the warehouse and prepared foods departments to ensure all food safety and product quality metrics are continually met. Responsible for managing labor costs and expenses to meet department goals.
What you'll do...
Quality
- Ensure all inbound and outbound product meets quality standards
- Work closely with Buyers and Operations to communicate needs and opportunities
- Partner with Sales to understand and define customer expectations
- Meet with supplier and customer representatives as needed concerning potential or actual concerns with product quality
- Participate in internal and external Quality audits. Assist with third party and customer audits to obtain or maintain certifications.
- Report to management on quality and food safety issues and trends
Inventory Management
- Oversee processes to ensure quality of inventory on hand
- Assess shrink standards and manage results
- Assist in establishing an inspection standard to meet customer expectations
- Support and enhance PCFs recall protocol
Rework
- Be in constant communication with the Rework supervisor to insure proper day to day operations
- Collaborate with supervisor and procurement team to establish daily priorities of inventory and product movement
Leading and Mentoring Others
- Maintain and deliver product and quality training to employees
- Provide guidance and direction to staff, including setting performance standards and monitoring and evaluating performance
What we look for...
- Bachelor's Degree preferred 3 years produce industry experience, or an equivalent amount of education and experience.
- Ability to multi task and plan and carry out projects with well-defined goals and outcomes
- Possess excellent communication and relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Advanced understanding of how to lead and develop teams by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Good judgment and the awareness of financial impact of decisions
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity and perform work at a level which promotes a positive image of Pacific Coast Fruit Company within the organization and the marketplace
- As a leader, model and communicate the Companys Vision, Mission, & Values
- Proficiency in MS Office products, with emphasis in Excel
