Maintenance Controller
Type of Position: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Oakland, California

Reports to: Director of Maintenance
Purpose of Role:
The Maintenance Controller serves as the central hub of information scheduling and overseeing the progress of all maintenance activities in coordination with the flight operations and management services departments. Adheres and promotes the Pacific Coast Jet’s Vision, Mission, and Values daily. Maintenance Controller provides direct oversight of any unscheduled or routine maintenance. Initiates MELs and ensures MEL procedures are followed. Coordinates all outstation maintenance activities.is the focal point for communications and coordination with Operations for the Maintenance department.
Manages parts operations within the maintenance department to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction, while maximizing return on investments through inventory control and expense control. Effectively engages department personnel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance for updating, tracking, and scheduling service inspections and checks.
- Support contract maintenance as well as diagnosis of crews and troubleshoot maintenance discrepancies.
- Ensure on time repair solution for AOG maintenance through arrangement and packing parts.
- Supervise all delayed items along with coordinate with parts as well as schedule to effect on time repair.
- Ensure to make on time decisions for schedule changes to resolve conflicts among maintenance and daily operations schedule.
- Conduct apt routing before release of aircraft for Flight Control service.Supervise entire over-night maintenance and ensure accuracy in paperwork maintenance.
- Arrange for remote stations maintenance for AOG aircraft maintenance and ferry flight inspections.
- Coordinate with crews and flight dispatch.
- Ensure entire FAA regulations along with guidelines are enforced.
- Support to coordinate contract maintenance services.
- Supervise mis-sent or misplaced shipments for costs recuperation.
- Research aircraft maintenance disburse and status to respective departments to ensure communication.
- Ensure to troubleshoot installation procedures and tasks.
- Recommend maintenance control equipment modification for updating.
- Create and oversee monthly work orders for the PCJ fleet.
- Create and manage third party maintenance work orders.
- Order parts via purchase orders as directed by the maintenance staff.
- Track and process core returns.
- Coordinate with AP regarding invoices related to work orders.
- Create a calibrated tool list and track currency.
- Tracking of maintenance work in process and any associated labor hours.
- Maintain approved vendor list as directed by the QA department.
- Scan and file all related work order documents.
- Assemble monthly customer invoices via a summary page. Tailor each invoice with a specific level of detail as requested by each customer.
- Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective parts department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Creates annual parts department goals and budget in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
- Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory.
- Submits all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit.
- Maximizes use of all order discount programs to achieve management stock order goals.
- Ensures all department tools and equipment are in good working order.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Other duties as assigned by the DOM.
Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Airframe and Powerplant license.
- Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
- Ability to multi-task and actively plan ahead.
- Creative thinking, problem solving, and sharing the solutions throughout the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call at times.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching and prolonged periods of sitting.
- Ability to occasionally lift 20 pounds vertically through 4 feet and maneuver that load at arm’s length.
