Pacific Coast Producers, a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking a talented and experienced Finance and Cost Analyst for our Corporate Headquarters in Lodi, CA. Salary Range: $65,000-$90,000; candidate will be paid based on their work experience and skills. Full time. This position is eligible for the annual profit-sharing bonus program.
The Finance and Cost Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis, cost accounting, and business intelligence support to the organization. This role focuses on developing, interpreting, and implementing financial and cost accounting concepts for financial planning, control, and decision-making. The Finance and Cost Analyst collaborates with various departments, including finance, operations, and procurement, to help ensure the financial health and success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning.
- Analyze financial data and create financial reports to support decision-making.
- Identify trends and variances and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
- Analyze and report on product costing, manufacturing costs, and inventory valuations.
- Monitor and review standard costs, overhead rates, and labor rates.
- Provide recommendations for cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with various departments to develop and maintain budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor actual results against budgets and forecasts and provide explanations for variances.
- Support management in the development of financial plans and strategies.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports to track performance.
- Support cross-functional teams with financial analysis and data-driven insights.
- Participate in the evaluation of potential investments, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- A Master's degree or 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, or a related role is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, cost accounting, and budgeting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- A team player with a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
