Production Supervisor

Our state-of-the-art Woodland facility uses advanced technology to process whole tomatoes into various products such as diced, crushed, stewed, sauces, and paste. The facility features a number of advanced technologies that are designed to enhance the quality of the products. For example, a cutting-edge sorting system ensures only the highest quality tomatoes are used. We are committed to sustainability, using a closed-loop water system and renewable energy sources like solar power to minimize our carbon footprint. The Woodland facility is a prime example of Pacific Coast Producers' dedication to quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Salary Range: $66,560 - $75,000 per year; candidate will be paid based on their work experience and skills. Ability to work swing and/or night shift during the harvest season (July-October).

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this exempt level position manages and directs all functions within a designated production area.  Incumbent will ensure that production standards, quality standards, labor efficiencies, safety regulations, and product output comply with FDA, USDA, and company policies.  Will supervise assigned staff with authority to make employment decisions.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise and train employees in company policies, safety, sanitation protocol, quality, and production procedures/standards.
• Consult with Production Planner and Plant Superintendent the production schedule and performance sheets. Adjust plans accordingly and ensure staffing levels meet production schedules.
• Document daily production records; investigate and report all production shortages, overages, and losses.
• Manage changes to procedures or processes resulting from changes in equipment, line modifications, installations, customer specifications, etc.
• Administer and maintain company policies, union contract work rules, ensure employees are following all SOPs, General Manufacturing Practices, and plant safety requirements.   
• During the off-season, supervise and oversee the maintenance operations, staff, budget, and improvement projects for specific department(s) repairs and maintenance.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Operations Management, Science, Engineering or related field; and/or 2 years management experience in food processing/manufacturing environment. Knowledge and experience may be substituted for degree.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet established deadlines.
• Computer skills required with experience in Microsoft Office tools.
• Demonstrates good leadership skills and an ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to be work flexible hours when needed. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Physical Requirements

• Frequent physical activity includes sitting, walking, using a keyboard, touching, hearing, and speaking. 
• Moderate physical activity includes standing, stooping, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
