We're actively seeking a talented Director and Product Owner of Integrations to join our Workforce Benefits Technology team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, hybrid or 100% remote.

Reporting to the AVP, Integrations and Data Engineering, the Director and Product Owner of Integrations will partner with our functional areas and corporate teams to prioritize and build technical integration capabilities and deliver a highly integrated framework of solution providers for Workforce Benefits. This role will be responsible for the design and delivery of technology solutions to integrate Software as a Service (SaaS) systems to the Workforce Benefits technology ecosystem. The Director and Product Owner of Integrations will manage a team of API Engineers, Architect, and Integration Solution Analyst to understand business needs, develop technical requirements, architect designs, and build API-led solutions to exchange data and data files between systems. This role will serve as a valued partner across the Workforce Benefits functions to provide real-time access to data, enabling enhanced decision-making and customer service by building a connected digital framework.


How you will make an impact:

  • Set priorities for the integration team, by working collaboratively with customer journey and technology product owners across the WBD division to identify, prioritize, and plan integration capabilities that translate customer objectives into action
  • Direct the creation of integrations solutions architecture to solve critical business problems. Ensure appropriate requirements and documentation are created and utilized during implementation, including process flows, technical system specifications, sequence flow diagrams, source to target mappings
  • Work within a Scaled Agile framework, managing a scrum team of API engineers and scrum master, ensuring work is laid out in backlog, that requirements and success criteria are set, that team capacity is managed effectively, and metrics are reported out on regularly
  • Manage the team of API Engineers, Architect and Integration Solutions Analysts, setting clear expectations and objectives for work, providing regular feedback, developing and growing team members, and conducting performance reviews
  • Build system, process, and experience APIs and API security frameworks to connect internal systems and external partner systems as part of the implementation of the integrations solution architecture. Extract, transfer, and load (ETL) data from Mulesoft, AWS, and other systems to Snowflake, WBD policy administration system, or other systems.
  • Form and enact integration governance principles and best practices for designing, managing and building APIs. Establish highest standards for security frameworks, including network and service, data, identity and access, and business and application security.
  • Create a robust quality assurance practice that ensures low defects being passed to production. Set developer testing standards, collaborate with WBD quality assurance (QA) team to build detailed validation test plans and scenarios that comply with user, business, and functional specifications
  • Act as key escalation point for production support, bug fixes and enhancements, and the hypercare process. Apply problem solving skills and creativity to uncover root causes, provide solutions and ensure timely resolution
  • Based on production release and UAT schedules, this role may be expected to provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance outside of regular working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel approximately 15-25% of the time.

The experience you will bring:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10 years of experience developing integrations or applications for a digital ecosystem OR drafting enterprise-level integration architecture with expertise in cutting-edge integration approaches including RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture and ETL frameworks
  • 5 years at a Director level leading a technology team
  • 5 years of hands-on integration experience
  • 5 years direct experience with modern cloud integration platforms, especially AWS services and electronic data interchange (EDI)



What will make you stand out:

  • 5 years of experience conducting orchestration, file transfer, and data transformation strategies with technologies including Mulesoft, Snowflake, and Control-M
  • 3 years of experience in Group Benefits insurance data domains, including Distribution, Product, Underwriting, Enrollment, Finance, Billing, and Claims
  • Experience with EIS administration system or other micro-services administration platforms

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$175,860.00 - $214,940.00
