We're actively seeking a talented underwriting consultant to join our Producer Group team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, hybrid, or 100% remote.
As a Senior Underwriting Consultant, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by accurately assessing risk, working with our distribution partners, and building relationships with our customers. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of 9 people in the Consumer Markets Division. Your colleagues will include Directors and fellow Underwriting Consultant professionals.
How you will make an impact:
- Accurately assess mortality of applicants using medical and non-medical information
- Qualify coverage based on financial information collected
- Work closely with our medical directors on complex medical situations.
The experience you will bring:
- 4 years of experience, with a signing authority of $10M
- Experience navigating through insurance underwriting manuals
- Clear communication skills, understand urgency and prioritization of work
- Collaboration and teamwork, adequate medical knowledge, product knowledge.
Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
