Welding Line Support

Primary Responsibility: Perform line support duties while maintaining quality, safety, productivity, as well as performing minor maintenance on equipment as trained; capable of all weld cells and fill-in to maintain/make production as needed; ability to train new hires and current employees.

Essential Functions: (includes but not limited)

· Demonstrate and enforce all safety policies including but not limited to PPE, lifting technique, machine guarding

· Understand the Kanban system in welding, press, and logistics to ensure correct production and training

· Operate weld cells in the event of an employee’s absence

· Fill-in as supplier in the event that parts are needed

· Know and understand where press parts are placed

· Management of Kanban cards for correct production

· Ensure that enough parts are being produced and in the event that the cells are falling behind increasing the number of employees in certain cells.

· Collect and stock empty part containers to the weld cells

· Knowledge and comprehension of quality control checks and paperwork

· Knowledge and comprehension of stop-call-wait

· Knowledge and comprehension of standard work

· Training of new hires as needed

· Fill-in for team leader

· Enforce company policies as directed

Qualifications and Requirements

· High School Diploma or GED

· Excellent leadership and organizational skills

· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment

· Strong math skills

· Strong comprehension skills

· Excellent attendance

· High level of professionalism

· High level of confidentiality

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift 50lbs

· Moderate physical effort is required to move containers

· Ability to walk, stand, and carry materials; stoop, kneel, bend at waist; push carts

Environmental Conditions

· Inside conditions-climate controlled

· Some exposure to heat and cold

· Exposure to some processing oils and welder sparks

· Exposure to occupational noise

· PPE and proper dress code must be worn at all times
