A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST

As a Collections Specialist, you will be critical part of our Collections team, reporting to the Collections Manager. You will be collecting on early to mid-stage delinquent loans and accounts by:

• Contacting members to bring delinquent loans current and/or collect on loan balances
• Analyzing the financial situation of delinquent members and making recommendations for appropriate next steps
• Maintaining accurate files and reports by consistently documenting actions taken on all collections activity

This position offers the potential for a remote/in office hybrid schedule following at least six months of successful employment. You will get great satisfaction out of serving members who may be experiencing hardship and contributing to the financial stability of the Credit Union.

COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year of related experience in collections, phone-based customer service, phone sales, or call center support required
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication, organization, and the ability to learn and adapt to new technology
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
• Collections experience preferred
• Experience in the banking and/or credit union industry is a plus

COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST WORK SCHEDULE

This position works M - F 8:30am - 5pm, with some opportunity to work some remote hours following six months of successful employment. NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS!
