What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, UX position at Paciolan?
While we are the market leader in many areas, we will never act too big or move too slow as a company. At Paciolan, we come to work ready to innovate and succeed, and we always have fun doing it. You may not recognize our name, because we white label our consumer channels, but we create great products at scale.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a creative and experienced person to manage our UX Design team. You will lead our talented team of designers, own and drive the creative vision and strategy for our next generation of products, be an evangelist for design and effectively integrate lean UX practices throughout the organization. You’ll work to deeply understand our customers and the fans and patrons they serve, set the vision for the design of our product line, and collaborate with product managers and engineers to help craft innovative products dominated by a mobile-first mindset. You will also love rolling up your sleeves and staying engaged in design work as you truly operate as both a player and a coach.
We have a great team in Irvine, CA if you are local and want to enjoy the energy of a collaborative office with a hybrid work week (remote and in-office each week). If not in the area, or work from home full-time is what you are looking for, this position can also be fully remote as we have a full suite of digital video and collaboration tools in place.
What you’ll do
- Strategize and set the UX vision for our company’s comprehensive product suite across SaaS-based enterprise (B2B) and fan-facing consumer channels (B2C).
- Effectively integrate user-centric design practices and lean UX into our agile teams to execute great products.
- Help champion and grow our design system in collaboration with your UX Design team and Development.
- Build out our capabilities and tools, not just in design but also in user research and data driven UX.
- Communicate with internal and external business stakeholders to evangelize the UX vision and gather information, including competitive analysis, to ensure we are building products that our clients and fans will consider to be the best in the industry.
- Coach, mentor and grow product designers within our organization.
- Work directly with our product marketing team to continue to raise the bar on externally facing product communications.
What to bring
- You have at least 5 years of experience as a design manager, including building and managing a design team within a SaaS-based enterprise or eCommerce company, preferably one with a product suite across both.
- The ability to coach, mentor, collaborate, and lead through influence, rather than top-down management.
- The ability to attract talent and experience building and supporting high-performing teams.
- Experience building and managing a complete, cohesive design system across products.
- Your ability to manage multiple initiatives at the same time, balancing priorities for the team and stakeholders.
- Product Design and UX thought leadership with your knowledge of up-to-date industry trends, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills with all levels within a company, including team members, clients, and internal business stakeholders.
- An amazing eye for detail and quality while also looking at the big picture.
- A growth mindset - viewing challenges as opportunities and identifying how to improve based on feedback and reflection.
- A fun, creative and passionate approach to building great products.
An Extra “Awesome”
- Ability and/or experience with speaking at meetups or conferences to further Paciolan’s brand as an innovator in product design.
- A passion for college athletics or performing arts.
