We are seeking an experienced, energetic, hands-on Manufacturing Floor Supervisor with strong leadership qualities who is ready and able to jump immediately into People Management, while quickly getting up to speed on our manufacturing processes and products.

Job Overview: Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Floor Supervisor will be expected to oversee and provide direction to production floor personnel in the Lapoint Packaging division, monitor work quality, ensure that employees have been properly trained, and that processes are running at the highest efficiency, while not sacrificing quality. The position will oversee and assist with daily plant operations including process and procedure improvements. This is an integral role and well suited for a leader who has initiative, can get up to speed quickly, takes pride in minor details and understands their impact when considered as a collective whole in our manufacturing plant. This is a hands-on job and entails long hours on your feet.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance and direction to production floor personnel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accomplishing manufacturing team results by communicating expectations
  • Planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Familiarity with the principles of LEAN Manufacturing
  • Maintaining a positive, upbeat and friendly attitude and work atmosphere while leading production personnel
  • Coaching and counseling team members to ensure optimum performance, pride in craftsmanship, and job satisfaction
  • Ensuring all team members are reading and understanding specifications
  • Maintaining training programs in conjunction with the Plant Manager
  • Conducting quality assurance inspections and generating reports
  • Coordinating daily production floor activities and delegating assignments to production personnel
  • Ensuring the workstations have required materials to complete each run
  • Monitoring and enforcing safety and personnel policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel
  • Ensuring equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when required
  • Evaluating the plant layout and material workflow and collaborating with Plant Manager for increased productivity
  • Submitting maintenance requests as necessary
  • Addressing conflicts and providing solutions
  • Upholding all applicable OSHA standards
  • Assisting other personnel as needed

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Trade/Technical School Certification or Bachelor Degree preferred, minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Strong problem solving, math, and analytical skills
  • Good planning and priority setting skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and co-workers
  • Must have the physical ability to constantly and repetitively stand, walk, stoop, push, pull, squat, bend, lift, and reach.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to handle various production line equipment and warehouse equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (excel spreadsheet, word) and Inventory software
  • Guide team to reach or exceed production quota by the end of each shift
  • Be a high-functioning “team” player
  • Experience in LEAN Manufacturing is a plus
  • Lead with a Positive Friendly Attitude

PackGen is seeking to expand our sales team to increase our dominance in the environmental, oil & gas, and chemical markets, and introduce new products into non-hazardous categories including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and other industries.

We are looking for individuals with direct sales or related experience, preferably with industry knowledge in industrial packaging products. This position will entail lead generation and out-bound sales calling while learning everything there is to learn about our products and the industries we serve. You will need to use your excellent communication skills to mine and qualify quality prospects for the sales team through email, phone calls, and other means such as social media and potentially trade shows. Your advancement is our goal, whether into outside sales, account management or any other of variety of roles in our fast-growing organization.

This role will require your presence, Monday through Friday, at our brand-new campus in Auburn, ME, (opening Sept ’22 – current location also in Auburn), complete with state-of-the-art workspaces with company gym. Work-from-home may be offered after demonstration of strong work habits and product/procedure knowledge.

  • Be goal driven, meeting or surpassing daily/weekly/monthly expectations

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English
  • Previous Business to Business sales
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office
  • Fast learner with a passion for sales
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Ability to retain product knowledge
  • Understanding of vertical markets served
  • Occasional travel may be required
