Forklift Operator
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Shipping Clerks are required to work as a team and help others when needed in other departments or if there is downtime. The Shipping Clerk is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform other duties. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for moving inbound, inter-warehouse and outbound product in a manner that meets client standards for safety, quality, productivity, and accuracy. All overtime is mandatory and could be required on short notice. Lifting up to 75 lbs. is required at times and using PPE throughout the building.
Essential Functions/Skills
- Performing daily equipment checks and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to Shipping Supervisor
- Trailer inspections check list are performed prior to loading and when done loading for all orders
- Load and unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment
- Checking loads are secure while and after loading
- Report any quality and data integrity issues to ship Shipping Supervisor prior to shipping the product
- Preform weekly building inspection of Shipping Warehouse
- Perform and maintain records required for GMP's
- Support continuous improvement efforts
- Ensure a safe work environment
- Ability to read, write and communicate proactively and appropriately
- Basic computer knowledge is required
- Create BOL's and packing list for driver's while preforming customers requires for all orders
- Establish productive interpersonal relationships
- Obtains copy of production schedule or shipping order and transports designated areas in the facility
- Stacking goods in the correct shipping / inventory, following inventory control instructions
- Performing daily inventory cycle counts
- Pull Orders and stage to ship prior to shipping
- Rotate product to insure using F.I.F.O.
- Maintain a clean Warehouse and office at all times while keeping all equipment and cleaning utensils in its proper storage area
- Load/unload shipments safely and move product to appropriate locations.
- Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate locations.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory
- Maintain forklift equipment by troubleshooting breakdowns, performing maintenance, recommending repairs, and performing routine pre and post inspections
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Create BOL's and Packing List while following Customer's requirements for shipment.
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Preform all daily checklist required in shipping.
- Assist Shipping Dept. with miscellaneous projects as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and resource.
Work Environment
Most of the work will be performed in manufacturing facilities where the noise level may be loud and the temperature is uncontrolled.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Other Duties
This is a full-time position with a 10-hour work schedule, but the employee must agree to variation in work schedules/hours and overtime.
