As a Packer Team Lead, your role is critical to the success of the line and the team. Each line has a target goal and achievement of these targets ensure we cover our planned costs and help us to achieve profitability each year. A successful business allows for reinvestment in our people, our site, and our business. Operators are responsible for learning how to operate multiple lines. Our Operators will collaborate with packers, Leads, Supervisors, Maintenance, Quality, etc. to ensure the end product meets or exceeds customer expectations and our internal targets are met. Operators are expected to ensure focus on safety first, quality second, and productivity and teamwork subsequently. Ideally we are achieving all three each day!

Safety
• Seek to understand and support a safety culture and workplace• Remain aware of surroundings and obtain knowledge of all required PPE for the job• Responsible for following all required safety procedures are for each task you do• Keep work area clean and organized• Report any safety concern, risk, hazard, near miss, or injury immediately to the appropriate supervision on shift• Periodically audit safety employee PPE throughout the day• Help support incident report management• Assist with monthly safety engagements• Schedule safety meetings• Ensure FSOs are completed on each shift
Quality
• Will inspect product for defects and packing finished goods into correct configuration• Validating parts for quality (flash, short shots, color, quantity)• Report any concerns on quality of product immediately to appropriate supervision on shift
Productivity
• Ensure dockets match the job running on all production lines• Update production information based on operator production reports• Assign packers/stackers to designated thermoforming area• Assign break relievers tasks and designated area in thermoforming• Gather manning information for daily staffing updates• Ensure packers follow correct procedures based on events happening in area• Perform numerous SAP functions (verify jobs, down time, etc.)• Create PORT tickets and labels as needed• Oversee new hire development across multiple functions• Update and distribute labor tracker, 4-hour report, and regrind reports• Ensure Assistant Lead is capable of performing Lead tasks in absence• Assist Supervisor based on duties assigned
• High school diploma preferred.• Microsoft Excel & SAP literacy• Ability to work independently as well as working with others effectively as a part of a team is essential• Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills; ability to work well in group situations; ability to deal effectively with conflict in mature & consistent manner.• Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as needed• Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours due to the nature of the work• Must be able to wear the required PPE to enter the plant/complete the tasks• We expect regular and timely attendance to avoid disruption to the team and the line.• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
