Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Data Warehouse Developer JOB DESCRIPTION/POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Data Warehouse Developer will design, develop, implement, and optimize data warehouses with flexible and scalable data and ETL architecture to provide enterprise data services for business users and applications for reporting, analytics, and business intelligence. This position is key in the analysis, definition and development of a long-term data plan that will meet the analytical needs of the organization. You will lead or assist in all aspects of our data warehouse, including: ELT/ETL, data quality evaluation and management, data modeling, database architecture, warehousing principles, and other activities. The Data Warehouse Developer responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Design, build and implement both real-time and batch data flows • Perform the design and extension of data marts, meta data, and data models • Ensure all data warehouse architecture codes are maintained in a version control system. • Support the logical and physical integration of all applications that are developed or licensed, including how data are used for multiple purposes • Create and manage architecture documentation and project artifacts such as data models, data dictionaries, ETL data maps, performance requirements, etc. • Create standards and conventions for data warehouse, analytics, and ETL systems. Prepare plans for all ETL (Extract/Transformation/Load) procedures and architectures. Design, Develop, and Implement ETL and other data movement requirements using T-SQL/PL-SQL, Microsoft SSIS or equivalent ETL platform • Proven ability to analyze, document, and reverse engineer any type of SQL based applications and processes • Make recommendation on how to rewrite, modify, redesign SQL based application and processes based on analysis • Setting up security access and maintain auditable records • Provide production support for existing reporting and database systems • Improve SQL procedures, Window services / .NET programs which transform and load data • Monitoring and tuning data loads and queries • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders in ensuring data warehouse architecture development and utilization • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate with others, including situations where you may disagree with people • Identify and implement improvements to software code for increased performance, efficiency, reliability, maintainability, extensibility and customer self-sufficiency. REQUIRED SKILLS/SPECIAL TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS: • Experience designing, developing and implementing Data Warehouse solutions • Experience in database design and modeling for data warehouse and business intelligence applications, including relational database structures and normal forms. • Experience with ETL Stored procedures in T-SQL and PL-SQL, Data Modeling knowledge • Advanced knowledge and experience in relational databases, SQL. • Advanced experience with or knowledge of most of the following software, languages and tools, or similar products: SQL Server DBMS, TSQL (ANSI), SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, Visual Studio Business Intelligence Development Studio, Oracle DBMS, Oracle PL/SQL, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access. • Work with the Data Warehouse and Power BI project manager to ensure best practice for data warehouse design • Ability to proactively research solutions and best practices • Analytical and troubleshooting skills with complex technical subjects and tasks. • Ability to present and explain complex technical topics, problems, alternative solutions to others. • Excellent verbal and written communications • Strong organization skills • Ability to work on a team, as well as independently.
