What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer position at PagerDuty?

We are looking for a talented designer (campaigns) to join our growing Brand team. This position will work in close partnership with a dedicated demand generation copywriter to produce creative assets that elevate our position in the market, inspire potential buyers, and drive action. 

As an accomplished and creative B2B design expert, you will lead in the creation and standardization of emails, landing pages, digital ads, social banners, and other campaign materials, while also working to ideate and develop new directions for the overall PagerDuty brand. You will be responsible for all campaign design assets and work closely with the Growth team and other stakeholders to build stunning, best-in-class campaign experiences that advance prospects and customers through every stage of the buying journey. In addition, along with the other designers and writers on the Brand team, you will help us push our creative in new and novel directions, generate new ideas for telling our brand story, and find new ways to bring the PagerDuty brand to life across multiple channels. 

Our ideal candidate is a problem solver with a strong aesthetic sensibility. You have a collaborative attitude, a keen eye, and knowledge on what drives interest and conversion in the technical B2B market. You embrace feedback from multiple stakeholders and can translate it into winning creative. You have worked collaboratively on creative teams, either at an agency or in-house or both. You can shift priorities quickly and deliver great work under deadline pressure. You know what it takes to achieve campaign goals while following consistent brand principles.

THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Own design and delivery for digital campaign assets including emails, landing pages, social media ads, digital ads, webinar abstracts, SEO copy, and other campaign content. 
  • Collaborate with writers and stakeholders to build stunning, best-in-class integrated campaign experiences across all digital marketing channels.
  • Have strong visual communication skills and be able to think strategically about what drives interest and conversion. 
  • Always be testing and optimizing new digital ad campaigns. Adhere to creative guidelines and apply marketing best practices to ensure maximum performance across all campaigns. 
  • Be able to implement your own style of organization to handle quick-turn requests and asset templating 
  • Monitor and report on how campaigns perform (for example: click through rates, open rates, conversion rates), perform ongoing campaign reviews, and incorporate learnings into development of future assets.
  • Take feedback from multiple stakeholders and thoughtfully apply it to current and future designs.
  • Be an active participant in frequent Brand team meetings and design reviews to aid in the development of new and compelling creative materials. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of previous marketing experience
  • 3 years' design experience as a designer on an in-house creative team or agency.
  • A successfully implemented portfolio showcasing your strongest work across digital channels
  • Outstanding technical skills with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, and/or Figma. 
  • Strong collaborator and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines and projects
  • Proficient in Google Docs for sharing work
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Strong communications skills, connecting with various levels of stakeholders and audiences 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while ensuring the quality of creative deliverables.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated photography, illustration, and motion skills
  • Experience working at a faced-paced start-up or high-growth B2B technology company, preferably SaaS
