Description
The position requires a strong medical business office background who is familiar with insurance companies to include government payors. The Specialist requires an in-depth knowledge of the revenue cycle process to include claims processing, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up. The qualified candidate must rely, in part, on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals as discussed with the Specialist’s manager.
Detailed Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Management–Manage a payor portfolio to include insurance follow-up and denial-management of all outstanding claims
Process all insurance correspondence, make corrections, submit requested information, take appropriate action to secure payment
Account follow-up on outstanding balances owed by the patient to include monitoring statements, contacting patients to establish payment arrangements, reviewing accounts for external collections, and adhering to the collection process.
Customer Service Relations –Answer billing calls; assist patients with account inquires and provide resolution; serve as a resource for front desk personnel; provide assistance with questions related to billing and collections.

Requirements
Education and Experience/Technical Skills
High School diploma
Minimum of four years’ work experience in a medical business office setting
Minimum of one-year work experience in medical billing
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Must be organized and detail-oriented
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Must possess good problem-solving skills
Knowledge of medical billing terminology and concepts related to billing
