What are the responsibilities and job description for the Studio Manager position at Painted Soul Arts?
We are looking for an organized and competent individual with customer service and/or management experience to manage our tattoo studio and art gallery. This position requires a minimum of 4 days in-person work each week, though some remote work days are also possible. Studio hours are 11am-6pm (closing time may vary if an artist is still working). Possibility for full-time or part-time work.
Duties include the following:
- Open and close the studio on days when scheduled, following proper protocol regarding security and heating systems, etc.
- Collect consent forms and IDs from clients, cultivate a welcoming environment for clients
- Answer phones and emails as needed on scheduled days
- Oversee other staff schedules and make sure there is a staff member present every day that the studio is open
- Approve vacation days for artists and staff members, keep the studio calendar organized and accurate, reflecting all staff and artist schedules
- As needed, handle job listing and onboarding/training for new staff members, be present at any interviews for new staff members
- Communicate with other staff members in a clear and professional manner, deal with any errors or conflicts that may arise
- Resolve any serious complaints or conflicts that arise with clients of the studio
- Regularly update policy documents, both in-house and client-facing
- Handle artist schedules through our booking system and any scheduling issues that other staff members are unable or unqualified to handle
- Record all transactions in appropriate spreadsheets, ensure that artist payout sheets are accurate
- Write and distribute artist checks on a weekly schedule
Must have experience with Google calendar and spreadsheets. Other applications that we use are Acuity scheduling (for booking), Square and Clover (payment processing) - any experience with these applications is a plus, though some training will be provided.
