Description

Summary: Responsible for performing brush, roller, spray paint applications at a Level 2 medium production rate and drywall repair by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Fills cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.*
2. Covers surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.*
3. Smooths surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, or sanding machines.*
4. Reads work orders or receives instructions from supervisors or homeowners to determine work requirements.*
5. Applies primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.*
6. Applies paint, stain, varnish, enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, or other structures using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.*
7. Erects scaffolding or swing gates, or set up ladders, to work above ground level.*
8. Washes and treats surfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other preparations, and sand rough spots to ensure that finishes will adhere properly.*
9. Removes fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, or electric switch covers prior to painting.*
10. Maintains good housekeeping on job site and employer premises.*
11. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures regarding equipment and supplies.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Builder Prime phone application.

Education/Experience:

Minimum 12 months related experience and/or training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

•  Basic knowledge of the standard practices, materials, methods, and equipment of the painting trade necessary to execute a top-level painting project.
•  Basic knowledge of the qualities and adaptabilities of various surfacing materials, of the methods for preparing surfaces for finishing, and of the weather and wear resistance qualities of paints and other finishing materials.
•  Basic knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work.
•  Ability to meet established timelines.
•  Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
•  Skilled in applying paints and other finishes by brush and roller.
•  Ability to effectively manage time.
•  Ability to communicate project status to internal staff.
•  Ability to climb ladders.

Salary : $37,500 - $47,500
