Located in Chino, California, you will be responsible for all safety activities for our primary manufacturing facility in Chino as well as our location in Batavia, Ohio. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company-wide safety program as well as conducting safety training and spearheading safety engagement effort for our employee base for all shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, coordinate, and assess accident, fire prevention, and occupational safety and health programs, utilizing knowledge of industrial safety-related engineering discipline and operating regulations.
Develop and recommend new procedures and approaches to safety and loss prevention.
Lead response to all safety and medical incidents.
Disseminate information to department heads and others regarding toxic substances, hazards, carcinogens, and other safety information.
Assist department heads and administrators in enforcing safety regulations and codes.
Measure and evaluate effectiveness of safety program, using established goals and metrics; present metrics to company leadership.
Conduct building and grounds surveys on periodic and regular basis to detect code violations, hazards, and incorrect work practices and procedures.
Develop and implement general safety training and training on job-specific requirements including forklift operator training.
Maintain administrative control of records related to safety and health programs; prepares and disseminate memos and reports.
Manage building security.
Administer worker’s compensation program.
Lead employee safety committee and other safety-related employee engagement programs.
Your Skills:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety manger role in a manufacturing environment in California
Excellent knowledge of CA and federal safety regulations; safety certifications preferred
Bi-lingual English/Spanish required
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Must be independent and a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction
Ability to work well under pressure and take lead in difficult situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to large groups of employees and conduct employee trainings
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with ability to quickly identify issues.
Forklift train- the-trainer experience preferred
