Estimator II

POSITION OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for providing presales assistance and estimation to account management colleagues and other departments within VTI for activities related to opportunities.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

• Represent Company in a business-like professional manner in both conduct and appearance, to maximize client satisfaction.
• Available to work outside of, or in addition to, normal businesses hours.
•  Work in compliance with the Company’s polices and procedures including safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times.
• Maintain and protect assigned Company assets.
• Accurate written record keeping, submitted on time and complete.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES: Include, but not limited to: 

• Create opportunities, quotes proposals within Q360 for assigned customers.
• Deliver proposals to assigned customers in collaboration with the Account Manager.
• Collaborate with VTI colleagues performing site surveys to gather necessary information to accurately develop the quote and proposal.
•  Process approved quotes in Q360 into Orders to be processed by Corporate Services
•  Assist with review and authorization of quotes in Q360 for account managers, including materials, labor and miscellaneous items.
• Work with manufacturer partners and Supply Chain to secure manufacturer quotes and/or registered pricing.
• Work with manufacturer partners to develop Server quotes and Storage calculations.
• Assist in project kickoff meetings to transition information to the project team for successful deliver of the project.
• Transition presales documentation to the engineering team for project documentation creation.
• Develop standard Quick-lists for assigned customers to expedite the quoting process.
• Meet with project team to gather feedback on Bills of Material and Labor Estimation to refine future quotes.

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:     

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of Industry Experience, experience estimating low voltage systems, preferably experience with AV and Structured Cabling as well.
• 2 years of Security industry design experience.
• Certification in 1 Access Control platform or equivalent documented experience.
• Certification in 1 Video Management platform or equivalent documented experience.
• Knowledge of NEC Code and low voltage systems. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized business systems as demonstrated by 4 years of experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Technical 2-year degree or better.
• 2 years of experience with Q360.
• Certification in Networking and/or SQL. 
• Certification in 1 Intrusion platform or equivalent documented experience.
• General knowledge of network security principals including data routing, switching, wireless radios, multicasting, VPNs, Enterprise VMS, and Enterprise level Access Control Systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

• Must be able to effectively communicate, (i.e. see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with employees and/or other customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Primarily an office-based position.
• May need to visit customer sites in a variety of settings including General Construction, Customer site, Office Building, etc.
• Must be able to work outside normal business hours, as business dictates.
• Limited overnight travel and driving may be required.
   

Pay: $70,000 - $90,000 (DOE)
