Pale Fire Brewing Co is looking for experienced, energetic back of house team members to join our team at our new location in Basye!
As a cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining high levels of food safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare menu items according to recipes and standards as well as custom orders
- Operate and maintain pizza oven, ensuring cleanliness and functionality
- Monitor and regulate oven temperature to ensure consistent and even cooking
- Apply toppings to pizzas and cook pizzas to perfection
- Prep certain items and ingredients according to company standards
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage of food items
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and kitchen environment
- Communicate effectively with other staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders
- Assist with the inventory management of food items and supplies
- Assist with the development of new pizza recipes and menu items
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a busy restaurant environment
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and utilizing downtime without being asked
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, including boxes of cheese and containers of sauce
- Ability to work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment
