Vice President of Sales

Palinode is seeking a Vice President, Sales. Corporate office position in Brentwood, TN. Base Pay: $75,000. Target compensation at plan: at least $120,000 year 1; $175,000 year 2 and beyond.

The VP Sales position is an individual contributor role at Palinode requires a high-energy, driven professional with natural sales instincts. In this role, you will help build the sales funnel through prospecting new channel partnerships, leveraging the existing client-base and articulating our value proposition with potential new customers with a consultative, solutions-based sales approach. You will need to see opportunity around every corner, approach sales with tenacity, and overcome objectives every day. This position reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and is primarily a Software-As-A-Service sales role that requires little to no business travel.

Palinode will provide the tools and technology that will allow you to connect with decision-makers; it’s your job to convert the leads you generate on your own or receive from Sales Development Representatives into opportunities and then closed sales. Constant daily tasks include scheduling and conducting demos, prospecting, lead management, deal negotiation and all tasks related to closing the sale.

Once trained, a successful individual in this position will proactively seek new opportunities to drive a growing pipeline and take initiative within the Sales & Business Development department. You will be encouraged to grow into your role and own your work and utilize data to lead decision making. You will have the potential opportunity to take on leadership positions managing your own verticals as we continue to grow the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed quota goals via existing channels and new prospects
  • Work with the sales team to close business, optimize close rates, and continuously improve pipeline development
  • Be creative, find solutions, stay organized and engaged
  • Research accounts to identify contact information for key leads
  • Collaborate with other individuals and departments to further nurture leads into opportunities
  • Effectively communicate company value proposition to key contacts at target organizations
  • Independently assess prospect needs and opportunities
  • Document all activities in the Hubspot CRM according to company policies
  • Manage multiple short-term and long-term opportunities simultaneously
  • Keep accurate records of customer interactions using defined methods and tools
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, bringing your best self to the table
  • Accomplish sales objectives by planning and evaluating sales activities
  • Maintain a steady opportunity pipeline by working with an assigned sales support representative
  • Coach, counsel, and mentor sales support personnel
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment
  • Develop personal and professional growth objectives
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
