What you’ll do
- Testing: Performs standard and specialized testing in support of metrology, media R&D, including testing set-up and calculations . Conduct lab experiments under guidance to test and characterize membranes and understand their physical, chemical, and mechanical properties, as well as filtration performance
- Methods Development: Develops or modifies methods and procedures used to test filter media or components.
- Calibration: calibrates instrumentation or equipment to traceable standards in accordance with specified procedures (incl. sending instruments out to mfrs.)
- Record keeping: Maintains records of data and calculations pertaining to fabrication, testing and calibration.
- Communication: releases relevant information in written and verbal form. generates concise reports, memos, purchase orders, SAP, Microsoft teams, quotations, shipping, Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, Miro, presentations, etc. in a timely manner.
- Equipment Operation: Designs, sets-up, operates and maintains equipment used to develop, test filter products or components.
- Installation and Maintenance of lab test equipment by coordinating with equipment suppliers
- Safety: laboratory, chemical storage, department, grounds, health, environment
Understands and complies with company safety policies and procedures as related to this position, including reading all relevant safety literature, using required protective equipment and practicing good housekeeping.
Who you are
- Four (4) year technical degree in chemistry, mechanical, biology, physics, or electrical field with at least two (2) years’ experience; or a two (2) year degree as listed above with min. four (4) years related experience. Experience working in a scientific lab environment.
- Ability to execute semi-independently and organize time to meet established targets
- Ability to analyze scientific and engineering data, and then present the results
- Prior hands-on experience in scientific research projects is preferred
