Law Enforcement Officer Experience ONLY, i.e. Police Officer, Deputy, Military Police, Federal Police, etc. in ANY U.S. State. NO Security only background Please.

Starting Salary Explanation:

10 month (Officers) steady day shifts with weekends, school holidays, and a big portion of the summers off (206 work days per year starting at $52,867).

12 month (Officers) positions are available. Increase in pay due to more work hours per year. Officers must submit yearly request for this position (250 work days per year starting at $64,160). We are currently in contract negotiations so these saltires are expected to go up. Speak to the Recruiter Officer La Paugh for more details.

The Palm Beach County Schools Police Dept. is responsible for the safety and security of over 180 school campuses throughout Palm Beach County. Our Police Officers are fully sworn and certified police officers with the State of Florida. They are responsible for campus patrol, initial case investigations, subsequent follow-up, and, when necessary, enforcement actions. Officers are encouraged to engage students through mentoring, and serve as positive role models to help promote healthy relationships between youth and law enforcement. Additionally, the officers may provide classroom presentations, counsel students, and other community based service requests.

Paid sick/personal days, FRS retirement with an eight (8) year vesting period (3% Accrual Rate) for the Defined Benefit Plan and a one (1) year vesting period for the Defined Contribution Plan. Employee benefits including Educational Salary Incentives provided through the State of Florida as well as the Palm Beach County School District through the current Bargaining Unit (PBA) Contract, Promotional Opportunities, and Take-Home Vehicle Program based on Availability/Seniority/Assignment.

Retired out of state and in state Law Enforcement Officers are welcome and encouraged to apply. Candidates must have retired within the last 8 years to qualify for participation in the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Equivalency of Training (EOT) program. This 76-hour EOT class is available at twelve (12) state wide training centers including Palm Beach State College and Indian River State College, locally.

Military Police (all branches) may qualify for FDLE 76 hour Law Enforcement EOT FDLE Certification course.

  • Out Of State Officers, must take an EOT class to get Florida FDLE Police Cert. (76 hour course). We do not pay for the course, travel, etc. and upon completion of course this is not a a guarantee for hire. You must undergo applcation process, backround check, voice stress test, medical, etc.
