What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account receivable specialist position at Palm Beach State College?

Description

Responsible for invoicing, collection, and reconciliation of accounts to ensure proper posting and collection of past-due balances.

Maintains federal and agency compliance by meeting billing requirements for account reconciliation. Conducts analysis to assess account discrepancies.

Minimum Base Pay : $18.66. All salary calculations start at the minimum salary and will be based on candidate's education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Processes and sends invoices to customers and student sponsors. Follows up on unpaid accounts. Assists internal and external agencies with billing issues.

Analyzes accounts and accounting records, including variance analysis.

Develops and monitors accounts receivable policies and procedures, including review of payment patterns and exceptions made, for the purpose of recommending changes to the policies.

Reconciles balance sheets, including all adjusting work, matching, and reconciling source documents.

Prepares required reports for various requests.

Responds to complex inquiries from all levels of employees or external sources regarding a variety of questions.

Designs spreadsheets by setting up routine formulas and functions with links.

Performs internal examinations of accounting work and controls.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications :

Education and Experience :

Associate degree and two years of related full-time work experience, OR high school diploma or GED and four years of related full-time work experience

Knowledge of :

Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Skilled in :

Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management

Delivering a high level of customer service

Resolving conflicts between individual needs and requirements of the organization

Performing with a high degree of accuracy

Advanced level Microsoft Excel

Ability to :

Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service

Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public

Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness

Research information for problem solving

Maintain effective working relationships

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements :
