Welcome to Palm Springs Aerial Tramway! We are recruiting for one, full-time, 40 hour per week, hourly, union position. Core duties include operating the world's largest rotating tram car; operating a 25 passenger shuttle bus; providing excellent customer service to guests; and performing various cleaning duties of both public and employee areas. $17.20/hr is the starting rate and $20.71/hr. after a 180-day probationary period subject to the candidate securing or possessing a California Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Operate tram cars in accordance with standard operating and safety procedures.
· Inspect tram cars for all safety concerns and communicate any safety issues to the on duty supervisor and maintenance personnel.
· Load and unload passengers safely.
· Monitor and direct the flow of guests on the docks at both stations.
· Make announcements to communicate departure times and gives instructions to passengers while operating the mountain turnstile. Assist at valley turnstile as directed.
· Perform various janitorial duties of public and employee areas involving but not limited to: trash collection; cleaning of restrooms; mopping; vacuuming, and surface disinfection.
· Clean tram cars to include mopping, cleaning of windows; wipe down of hand rails and other surfaces.
· Conduct emergency tram car procedures in the event of a stoppage or other immediate response event.
· Operate tramway vehicles in accordance with standard operating and safety procedures.
· Operate tramway equipment including but not limited to: snow blowers and scissor lift in accordance with standard operating and safety procedures.
· Drive a 25 person, open-air shuttle bus and perform all required pre/post trip inspections. Report all deficiencies or issues to the on-duty supervisor as needed.
· Oversee the parking operation when serving as a bus driver, coordinating opening and closing of lots with the assistance of security personnel or others.
· Provide traffic control and direction for parking of vehicles when lower lots are utilized.
· Respond to all customer related inquiries, concerns, and questions either directly or by referring them to the appropriate party/department.
· Provide open, responsive, and courteous communications and customer service with employees and customers.
· Provide or assist with CPR/AED/First Aid procedures as needed.
· Perform grounds keeping duties, including but not limited to: landscaping, debris removal, and snow removal.
· Perform general trash removal and cleanup of roads and parking lots.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work all holidays, weekdays, weekends, and shifts regularly occurring between 6:00 am – 10:30 pm seven days per week with mandatory overtime as needed. Shifts may be later or earlier for special events and/or holidays.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
California Commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement for a 25 passenger shuttle required within 180-days of hire.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

The employee is occasionally required to bend at the waist; climb or balance; crouch; and reach above shoulder height. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull and move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to wear a fall restraint system with a maximum weight bearing load of 300 pounds during an emergency evacuation of the tram. Ability to traverse the top of the tram car and cross and platform at heights of up to 600 feet above the ground.

Work is performed primarily in the public eye, both indoor and outside, with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to changing altitudes and weather conditions ranging from extreme cold to extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; and chemicals associated with janitorial duties. The work environment is fast paced with large crowds.
