Communications Director

POSITION OVERVIEW

The role of the Communications Director is to partner with the Executive Leadership Team to identify priorities and determine direction for communications efforts based on the church’s yearly calendar, goals, and initiatives. Specifically, the Communications Director is responsible for our online strategy (website, social media, Online Campus etc.), marketing strategy, protecting our brand, and ensuring consistent and excellent implementation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communications
  • Collaborate across various ministry areas to create communication plans, produce communications materials and content, and support event promotion
  • Create a strategy for the timing and nature of information to be communicated and share the strategy with staff
  • Ensure high-quality and high-impact communications are created for internal and external audiences
  • Provide innovative consultations on the best communications practices for ministry leaders
  • Copyrighting – collaborate on the writing, editing, formatting, and delivery of copy to multiple audiences
• Online
  • Lead in the utilization of social media, web strategy development and implementation, and assist with producing digital content
  • Lead and develop the strategy for PVC Online; including but not limited to establishing guidelines for online engagement, recruitment and equipping of online volunteers
• Marketing
  • Develop a strategy to highlight and share our church with the community and our church family
  • Create, develop, and deliver merchandise to meet the needs of the church
• Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers to help implement communications strategies
• Creative
  • Participate in the creative process for all programming, production, communication, music, and video
  • Develop a close working relationship with members of ministries across Palm Valley Church

• Experience and/or the ability to develop fluency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) as well as various (applicable) church management systems (Planning Center, RightNow Media, Asana, Church Online Platform, Wordpress, etc.)
• Willing to do whatever it takes, short of sin, to accomplish the mission of Palm Valley Church
