Palmer Land Conservancy (Palmer) is one of the leading nonprofit land conservation organizations in Colorado and one of the country’s first 100 nationally accredited land trusts through the Land Trust Alliance. Our mission is to protect land and water for the wellbeing of nature and people. Since 1977, the organization has permanently protected 138,000 acres including 20 public parks and open spaces, working farms and ranches, wildlife habitat, and scenic views. These are the places where we all live, work and play.
We are a team of professionals who work with private landowners, and local, state, and federal partners to be a catalyst for community health, resiliency, and prosperity. Through these partnerships we can achieve lasting impact towards our mission and begin to ignite a culture shift for conservation. We are committed to organizational excellence and valuing our people, diverse backgrounds and experiences, equitable access and expanding the tools we need to be successful.
The Executive Assistant & Board Liaison arrives at a time of growth and opportunity within the organization. Guided by the goals of our new 5-year strategic plan, Land for Life, the organization is focused on acting now and building for future generations. Combined with fiscal strength and a drive for innovation, Palmer is projected to grow our staff by 40% over the next three years to achieve our conservation objectives. At Palmer we believe people ultimately make this work happen. The more a community cares about its land and water resources, the more willpower there is to preserve and protect them. Similarly, the more a community has access to the outdoors the healthier its population is, with a higher quality of life. We believe that connecting people to nature and ensuring the benefits of this work is accessible by everyone is a priority.
Our main office is in downtown Colorado Springs, with satellite offices in both Pueblo and Salida. Find out more at palmerland.org.
