Description

  • Encourages and enforces covenant compliance within the Palmetto Dunes community. Covenant compliance includes, but is not limited to, adherence to PDPOA’s Covenants, Bylaws, ARB’s DCG’s, Lagoon and Lakes’ PPG’s, and Resort Regulations. Investigates complaints of violations, and issues private citations and fines as necessary.
  • Conducts periodic on-site and closing property inspections, including photographing and inspecting properties, issuing the appropriate notices, and ensuring properties are brought into compliance. Prepares a variety of reports, memos, and correspondence; documents and maintains records of enforcement activities for residential properties. Maintains compliance activities in compliance software.
  • Drafts and executes easement agreements for lagoon-front properties.
  • Inspects and enforces applicable compliance issues pertaining to the lagoon system and shoreline structures. Regularly attends Lagoon & Lake Advisory Group meetings. 
  • Responds to questions and concerns with regard to covenant compliance; provides information as appropriate and works with the ARB and other PDPOA staff to resolve complaints.
  • Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures, and work methods associated with assigned duties.
  • Provides administrative support regarding the landscape debris pickup policy.
  • Many of the essential functions of this position will be performed in an outdoor setting. Employee must be able to tolerate extreme weather conditions to include heat, humidity, cold weather and rain. Appropriate outdoor attire will be required to be worn.
  • Provides assistance with governance questions and staff support for committees and advisory groups. 

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skill to support effective communication with others. Prompt, courteous communication with owners and guests is expected.
  • Adept ability and knowledge to use computer systems, telephone systems, and other office equipment as needed. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Must be authoritative when necessary, and have the ability to control situations and guide conversations to an agreeable resolution.
  • Must possess the ability and knowledge to use computer systems. Proficiency in Office 365 including Outlook, basic skills in office procedures, and filing systems is required. Ability to maintain central database for citation and code enforcement activity data.
  • Must be able to read and interpret plot plans and maps.
  • Experience in public contact and ability to provide superior customer service while exhibiting professionalism.
  • Being able to work with minimal supervision is critical, and multitasking is a necessary skill. Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays.
  • Must be able to present information at Board of Directors meetings.

Education and Experience

  • The Covenant Compliance Representative should have at least 3 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Excellent computer skills are critical and attention to detail and accuracy is required.

Eligibility Requirements

  • This position must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and have a relatively clean driving record.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

This job requires some physical activity. There will be times when the Covenant Compliance Representative must be able to inspect properties and work with homeowners, which will require travel to and examination of sites in a variety of weather and terrain conditions.


While performing the duties of this job, the position could be required to alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate with property lighting and an outdoor setting with variable climate and lighting.
