JOB PURPOSE |
This position is responsible for leading the setup technician team within the manufacturing process department. The Setup Technician Supervisor will adhere to changeover schedule and procedure while directing setup technicians and delegating task appropriately. This individual will also mentor and train setup technicians as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Oversee machine tool setups and changeovers and ensure operations remain on schedule and in accordance with procedure.
- Actively lead and participate in root cause analysis on manufacturing issues with all departments.
- Monitor and interpret tool life data to identify areas of improvement.
- Read and interpret blueprints efficiently.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of standard work instruction.
- Communicate with all departments to relay status of equipment and/or processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Direct setup technician team to efficiently complete changeovers and monitor manufacturing processes.
- Communicate with all members of the manufacturing process department to drive improvement projects, as well as develop new manufacturing processes.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS |
- Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology.
- 3-5 years machining experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read write and interpret G-code.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment in a leadership role.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to give instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- CNC programming and troubleshooting experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS |
Expect to work within a climate control facility with mid to high noise levels. Working conditions and hours may vary based on production and business needs, including working regular shifts as outlined and/or occasional weekends, or overtime, if needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, climbing, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as handing paperwork. Team members will be lifting/maneuvering objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly. Cleaning material and chemicals used regularly.
