PURPOSE

What is the overall purpose and objective of this position (why does the position exist)?

Leads IT&S projects, applications and vendors to meet the technology needs of the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
What are the essential functions of the job? What things must be done?

· Application Management – Support and manage system development life cycle for assigned applications

· Testing – Ensure that newly developed or enhanced computer systems are thoroughly tested and are properly deployed

· IT&S Liaison - Provide bridge to lead / support communications between business area and technical resources for design and development

· Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

OTHER DUTIES
What are the non-essential duties of the job? What things are non-critical that can be done by others?

· Technical Tasks – Assist in technical related tasks and analysis

· Analysis & Research - Process analysis for the purpose of implementing technology based solutions

· Assist in various computer related projects as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
What is required to perform the Essential Duties?

· Understand database technologies including table structure and stored procedures. Ability to report on and update data via SQL and Crystal Reports a must.

· Knowledge of DB2 highly desired, but not required.

· Knowledge of TMW Truckmate desired, but not required.

· Typically possesses 2 years of relevant work experience in Systems Development, Project Management, Business Systems Analysis with Bachelor Degree.

· Project management background/experience desirable but not required.

· Transportation background preferred

· Entry level use of the prescribed systems development life cycle, including analysis, design, build, test and implementation.

· Exposure to Client Server and web base technology with the ability to understand the pros and cons of each.

· Understand limitations and positives regarding different technologies including development tools.

· MS office products (Word, Excel, Project, Visio).

· General computer aptitude (Navigation (IE, SharePoint), remote connectivity, accessing different data sources).

· Ability to trouble shoot and solve application problems where technical understanding of the application is required

· Must possess analytical and problem solving skills.

· Must possess organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong business acumen.

· Ability to analyze and interpret business data and compare and contrast expected results from actual results.

· Must be able to communicate effectively with managers and end users within the company along with external vendors.

WORKING CONDITIONS
· Weekend and night hours sometimes needed.

· Sedentary work – exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of forces frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; walking and standing are only required occasionally

· Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer terminal, and extensive reading

· Typical exposure to interior environmental conditions like air conditioning and dust; no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions

· Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers

· Talking and hearing required to communication with and listen to others to share or receive information. May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others

· Occasional travel may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
