Hair Stylist

Working closely with the Spa & Salon Manager to provide best in class hair care and styling services including, but not limited to, wide range of techniques of hair care services/styles, beauty trends, hair treatments, and health and safety practices. Additional responsibilities of the role include operational excellence, product/service knowledge and team member training. The Hair Stylist ensures a clean and safe environment for all patrons, team members and vendors, while safeguarding enterprise assets and guaranteeing departmental integrity.

• Perform all types of hair services such as: latest trends in hair cuts, coloring, highlighting, blow dry and styling and hair extensions
• Offer the highest level of personalized service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, helpful and professional demeanor with all guests and team members
• Maintains a positive, friendly, cooperative, pleasant and professional demeanor and appearance at all times
• Properly care for equipment and products used throughout the spa facility.
• Be punctual for spa appointments
• Verbally communicate and describe to guests in an articulate, appealing manner the spa offerings and their benefits
• Complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered. 
• Recommend and up-sell services that fit the guests’ needs.
• Respond to guest questions and concerns with professionalism and courtesy
• Respond to guest requests regarding treatment immediately, accurately, and appropriately
• Demonstrates commitment to and participation in continuing education
• Uphold the standards of sanitation, sterilization, restocking rooms, and all product areas.
• Maintain a demonstrated understanding of the spa industry and spa philosophy (balance, relaxation, unity, and a healthy lifestyle)
• Maintain a clean, safe, stocked and well organized work area
• Uphold the standards of sanitation, sterilization, restocking rooms, and all product areas.
• Maintain spa appearance and cleanliness
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Assist in all areas of the spa operation as directed by management
• Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of the position
• Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules, weekend, and holidays to reflect the needs of the facility
• Must comply with rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facility
• Ability to be efficient in a fast paced environment
• Attention to and accuracy with details
• Participate in scheduled meetings as requested
• Perform other job duties as requested

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One to three years of high-level haircare and styling knowledge and experience required.
• Must have the ability to communicate verbally across all levels of the enterprise.
• Must have good presentation skills.
• Must have excellent writing skills and strong computers skills covering Microsoft Office applications as well as all compliance applications.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any license or work cards required, including: State of Nevada State Board of Cosmetology license in Cosmetology or Hair Designer.

Physical Demands

• Work is performed in a Spa and Salon setting.
• Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
• May be exposed to smoke
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests.
• Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
• Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Eye/hand coordination.
• Use of standard office equipment.
• Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
