The Role
The Patient Billing Representative will possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This person must excel at processing patient insurance, charge entries, payment information, and successfully assists patients with billing inquiries. Diplomacy and tact are required in interactions with patients, insurance companies, and TEAM.
- Assists with the overall operations of Panorama Eyecare’s billing department by ensuring daily data entry, timely and accurate flow of insurance claim processing, and posting of payments.
- As a patient billing representative, you will enter patient privacy data, ensure a successful daily balance, file all daily routine slips by EOD, and process nightly closes.
- Answers all incoming phone inquiries from patients, work alongside insurance companies and ensure all written insurance inquiries are addressed.
- In a timely manner, posts all insurance and/or patient payments to the appropriate patient account, maintains accurate system notes.
- Will work alongside the Patient Experience TEAM members to address any and all billing and insurance inquiries.
- The Patient Billing Representative must maintain 100% patient confidentiality at all times.
- Performing cashiering duties involving settlements of patient accounts and related clerical activities, including issuing receipts and preparing bank deposits
- Uses advanced business software skills for creating documents, letters, spreadsheets, reports, graphs, and presentations.
- Will successfully work under limited supervision, following defined procedures all while taking pride in their work and owning the responsibility for their performance.
Requirements
Who You Are
- Minimum of 1 year in a billing/coder position, ideally in a medical setting.
- Our preferred candidate will have an understanding of CPT and ICD codes
- Our TEAM members must have integrity and high attention to detail.
- Ophthalmology office experience is preferred.
- Experience in certified coding, knowledge of Nexgen, and Excel is ideal.

- Works at our clinic location, Riverbend.
- This is a Full-Time Position.
- Compensation for this role will be $22.00 - $26.00 an hour based on experience/certification.
