What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager, Curriculum position at Pansophic Learning?
The Curriculum Project Manager is responsible for leading content development projects, maintaining production schedules, and supporting Curriculum Developers to ensure our learner's needs are met.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Coordinates and implements several projects, or components of a larger project, within the content team, including: supporting the development of curricular resources; planning events and executing special events hosted by the content team;
- Vendor relations: Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested goods and services as needed; work on MSA and Addendums as needed.
- Create curriculum development project timelines, help define and set all deliverables, and develop and implement action plans when deliverable dates are at risk.
- Organizing, documenting, and running project kickoffs and weekly production meetings.
- Hiring and staffing Content Contributors and Subject Matter Experts to support content creation efforts
- Track and optimize production spend, keep projects within budget, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Manage staff, contractors, and external vendors in developing the courses;
- Ensure that schedules and budgets are met;
- Monitor course performance data and instructional trends and research and applying these to continuously improve the effectiveness of the courses;
- Manage project and program issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline
- Communicate with Stakeholders, Managers, Vendor teams, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure timelines and quality standards are met. Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication
- Serves as a liaison with internal and external partners and clients, as needed, to facilitate operational project success.
- Create, document and improve processes, standards, and best practices, as needed. Work cross-functionally with marketing, design, and engineering teams to ensure Curriculum Developers have all resources necessary for production efforts.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor's degree or practical experience required.
- 8 years professional experience as a project manager specializing in content development.
- Experience with project management tools such as SmartSheet and Google suite.
- Experience with various project management strategies, such as waterfall and agile methodologies.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT
- Formal education in Computer Science or Education.
- Interest and ability to learn programming languages, libraries, and frameworks quickly.
- Experience working with independent content creators and vendors to deliver high-quality content.
- Experience with managing teams and projects to produce educational content that reaches a wide audience in a digital format or in print.
- Experience with cost management and budgeting
- Experience working with contractors or 3rd-party vendors as part of a production process
