The Role
Patheon is seeking an experienced content leader with a demonstrated ability to create and implement a comprehensive content strategy and lead a content production team responsible for creating and managing targeted content for the company's ideal customer profile (ICP). The Senior Manager, Content will be a key member of our fast-growing and high-performing marketing team and will work closely with marketing leadership, communications, product marketing, and other teams to develop an overarching content strategy to build brand awareness, drive organic traffic and support the development of high-quality content for our customers to drive their success. You will translate Pantheon’s go-to-market messaging and brand story across internal and external communication channels and manage both internal and external content contributors to drive results back to the business. You will identify the needs of our buyers and devise the strategy for the creation and publishing of the content in all forms - videos, podcasts, blogs, and short/long-form content. In short, you’ll understand the right words, tone, and feeling to effectively represent our brand and make a meaningful connection with our audience. You’re also passionate about closely following industry trends and publications to enhance our brand story and how we connect to new buyers; adept at producing impactful collateral and resources to aid in marketing, sales, and product adoption; and skilled at monitoring site and campaign analytics to draw conclusions and iterate quickly on market strategies.
This role reports to the vice president of corporate communications.
Cool Things You’ll Do
- Develop Pantheon’s overarching content strategy with an eye to amplifying our brand through impactful content and customer stories.
- Oversee the development of content that brings our brand to life, drives customer and prospect engagement, and positions us as the leader in WebOps.
- Make connections between where the people are in their journey and the stories they want and need to hear.
- Write genuine copy that drives SEO, organic and social engagement.
- Edit other people's writing to make it great
- Come up with big ideas and try them out.
- Drive thought leadership to help build brand awareness and increase executive visibility.
- Oversee our internal content team and external contributors to ensure we’re producing awesome content and meeting timelines.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of our communication strategies.
- Identify gaps in our content and come up with new topics and opportunities to make a market impact.
- Evaluate existing content channels and approaches to propose and test new opportunities to expand market awareness of Pantheon.
- Develop and implement communications protocols, best practices, and processes that will help make us even stronger as a content and communications team.
What you Bring to the Table
- 6 years of experience in content strategy, with a minimum of three years leading a team.
- Bachelors in Journalism, English, Communications or related field.
- Ability to write and communicate clearly and concisely.
- An exceptional storyteller who knows how to mine for great stories.
- Track record creating thought leadership and developing influencer programs in the technology sector.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience executing coordinated content strategies across the marketing organization.
- Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to repurpose content into multiple content types for distribution across multiple channels.
- Strong spirit of collaboration and proven ability to work across different groups.
