Die-Cut Operator
Location: Forest Park, IL
(Full-time, Monday - Friday)
**Mandatory Saturdays during peak season**
6:30am-3:00pm (8-hour shift) | 6:00am-5:00pm (10-hour shift)
Rate: $15.00/hr
Summary
Die-Cut Operators efficiently perform set-up and operate machines that die cut blank and/or pre-printed stock. Includes confirmation of accuracy and completeness of order, dies, set-up and installation, paper stock, and the load and feed of paper, the effectiveness and accuracy of cutting, staging completed work per instructions, and area maintenance. It also requires working with supply and demand, to track production and completed workload.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust and operate a variety of machines, folders, cutters and die cutters
- Inspect equipment for safety and perform routine maintenance such as the oiling of equipment and knife changes
- Arrange and setup material as required
- Calibration of machines
- Problem-solving minor issues related to the repair of the machine
- Feeding raw material or paper parts into automated machines
- Examining and discarding defective goods and packing components
- Follow the pre-production make ready and production run tasks.
Requirements
- Quick learner & Attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to take direction
- Ability to perform job tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to read and understand work instructions (Job Tickets/Work Orders)
- Work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production line environment
- Prior experience working with machines is a PLUS
- Above average mathematical skills (ex: decimal system)
- Able to read, write and communicate in English
- Sound mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience with die cut machines
- Open availability and flexibility to work according to the needs of the business, which may require work outside machine operation.
- Cross-training as assigned on other machines
- Follow and adhere to all PPE rules/regulations
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
