Training Requirements
- The facility will conduct training.
- Must be hired prior to April 8, 2024
- Applicants are required to take the State exam within 120 days of their date of hire.
- Applicants are responsible for all fees/license for the State exam.
Term
This temporary position may be extended as agreed to by employer and employee. The employee must work toward attaining certification as a CNA during term of employment.
Responsibilities
- Fulfill competency standards for the company’s (non-certified) hospitality aide competency requirements
- Attend in-service education programs mandated by federal, state, and company regulations and policies
- Assist with welcoming new admission and getting them situated as well as residents moving to a different room
- Assist residents with using video conference and voice call devices and software to communicate with family, friends, and health care providers
- Distribute ice, water, pitchers, trays, glasses, snacks, and other items to residents as needed or assigned
- Assist residents during activities and to/from rehabilitation services and other areas in the facility
- Assist residents with choosing clothing/outfits, eyeglasses, and wheelchair as needed
- Monitor and assist residents during mealtime and while eating foods and snacks
- Bring resident laundry to and from laundry department, assist laundry department with hanging, laying out, and folding clothes
- Water plants and tend to the physical space as needed Remove/clean trash, spills, and other items from resident rooms and facility Make resident beds, clean drawers and closets, straighten and organize rooms
- Monitor hallways, rooms, and environmental for safety of residents
- Answer call lights when appropriate and within scope of training and duties
- Comply with all policies and procedures relating to handwashing, sanitation, wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), and other guidance from the facility
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, cognitive, and/or emotional status to charge nurses, director of nursing, and/or administrator
- Report any concerns, maintenance issues, or violations of federal, state, local, or company regulations and policies
- Communicate and interact effectively with residents, visitors, families, staff, and supervisors
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed
Qualifications
Required Education and Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, and ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Display attention to detail Interact with residents, families, and the community in a professional manner
- Ability to engage in active listening (giving full attention to those speaking), critical thinking (using logic and reasoning to identify strengths/weaknesses of alternative solutions), and active learning (understanding implications of new information during problem-solving situations)
