Job Title: Resource Center Compensation Program Administrative Assistant
Opening Period: Until filled
Position Information: Project-specific position with full-time hours and limited benefits
Duty Location: New Boston/Portsmouth, OH

The Resource Center Compensation Program Administrative Assistant is responsible for the provision of program-related information and claims-related assistance to claimants and potential claimants applying for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICP) Act of 2000. This program supports the Department of Labor in compensating former Department of Energy employees who suffer from certain illnesses as a result of their employment in the Department of Energy complex.

The Administrative Assistant (AA) is responsible for general office duties including filing, answering telephones, greeting visitors, and scheduling appointments. The AA may also be responsible for maintaining, filing, and tracking information in a government database. The AA will adhere to established practices for protecting personal and sensitive information.

This is a project-specific position with full-time hours and limited benefits.

Major Responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant:

· Greeting clients

· Handling routine inquiries via telephone and in person

· Arranging schedules for client interviews with the Caseworkers, Assistant Manager, and Resource Center Manager

· Scanning, storing and retrieving information and records

· Entering specific claimant information in government databases

· Handling/processing the transmittal/shipment of claimant information packages

· Maintaining an adequate inventory of consumable supplies and required forms

· Assisting with resource center outreach activities as directed

· Other duties as assigned by the Resource Center Manager

Requirements and Qualifications:

· Min. 1 year administrative support experience

· Min. 1 year answering phones in office environment

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

· Prior experience working at or for a Department of Energy facility covered by the EEOICP preferred

· Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred
