What are the responsibilities and job description for the Protocol Researcher position at Parallel Finance?
Parallel is on a mission to bring Decentralized Finance to 1 Billion People. As a first step, we have built an institutional-grade DeFi parachain in the Polkadot ecosystem, to empower the community to earn interest on their assets, with the utmost safety and security in mind. Our primary goal is to create an innovative lending, borrowing, staking system that uses the power of Polkadot to generate the greatest capital efficiency for everyone involved.
Parallel is looking for Protocol Researchers to join our team. This position will work closely with our CEO and Product teams. You will be accountable for driving high-level decisions about protocol architecture, design, and features. This is an exciting opportunity to join a hyper growth start up in the DeFi/ blockchain space with something potentially revolutionary.
What You'll Do:
- Research and design DeFi protocols across chains (e.g. Polkadot, Ethereum) and identify critical issues building high performance blockchain/ DeFi platforms
- Build core protocol architecture; participate in ongoing research on latest DeFi protocols, interpret and implement solutions to expand on Parallel’s product suite
- Drive implementation details and participate in technical specification designs, development, and delivery; Lead ideation sessions with product and engineering teams to present new findings and product ideas
- This position requires experience designing and building performant and scalable network protocols and a deep understanding of DeFi ecosystem; Passionate about building a global-scale decentralized future
- Highly adaptable and thrive in a fast paced environment; Scrappy: willing to roll up your sleeves
- Must have previous work experience in crypto / blockchain industry; preferably at a high-growth start up.
