Job Summary
The Director Workforce Management is responsible for supporting the strategic direction and performance improvement initiatives of Parallon service lines, as well as other HCA service lines engaged with the team. This role will work cross-functionally with Department and Executive Leadership to optimize staffing resources and drive continuous improvement.
Duties (included but not limited to):
- Supports the labor management analysis process including but not limited to productivity and other labor metrics such as Man-hour stats, FTE data, etc.
- Ensure service line departments staff appropriately for actual and projected volumes including developing and monitoring staff scheduling practices.
- Serves as the business owner for designated WFM tools.
- Continually monitor productivity goals and requirement calculations to ensure they are appropriate.
- Minimize use of overtime, temp labor and other premium labor through management practices.
- Analyze business processes to identify potential issues or opportunities for cost savings in labor management and propose solutions to Department and Executive Leadership.
- Work closely with HR to ensure best practice in requisition support including the timely hiring and training of staff.
- Support the Operational Analytics team in diagnosing when operational changes will require accommodations in published Labor-related reporting.
- Assists Department Leaders in managing information effectively to improve departmental efficiency and performance.
- Staffing Analysis - Knowledge of descriptive statistics to analyze statistical data and prepare projections and recommendations related to staffing. Skill in interpreting and analyzing data and quantitative metrics for correctness and accuracy. Ability to apply Business Intelligence strategies to convert staffing business cases into solutions.
- Leadership - Guides individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standards and delivering leading quality services
- PC skills - Extensive PC skills, including spreadsheets, databases and presentation applications; Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required
- Tactical Execution - Takes independent action and ownership of tasks, responding quickly and going above and beyond to get the required results
- Policies & Procedures - Articulates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems
- Project Management - Ability to understand and manage a project.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering, Math, Data Analytics, or Business. Equivalent work experience may substitute education requirements if individual has served in a Staffing position in a prior role.
- Minimum 7 years total business experience or professional work experience in a related field with three of those years in a supervisory role required.
- Experience with mathematical concepts: ratios, productivity, work units, accounts receivables, etc. as well as basic knowledge of business management principles involved in staffing scheduling, time studies, human resources, and payroll.
- Experience within healthcare provider finance operations, operational consolidation and shared services a plus.
- Proficiency using SQL, DAX or Microsoft's Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) a plus.
