1/ST Technology is currently searching for a hardworking Entry Level OSC Operator I. You will be working in real-time transaction processing environment while continuously monitoring communication networks. You will identify situations or data requiring additional attention to reporting the identifiable factors.
The Operator I (Entry Level) in Operations Center will be working in real-time transaction processing a DOS environment while continuously monitors communication networks. The ideal candidate will have the ability to identify situations or data requiring additional attention to reporting the identifiable factors. You will be opening and shutting down, executing the day-end procedure, monitor ITW traffic-inbound and outbound traffic, verify ITW connections are established at the proper time. You will use menus for basic trouble-shooting, monitor communication networks and report issues per reporting guidelines. Your role supports RDC (Race Day Control) operations, which provides support for RDC functionality (RDC techs, mutual departments, etc.) You will generate ad-hoc reports. The ideal candidate has excellent troubleshooting skills, excellent oral and written skills and must be willing to provide 24x7 support, including nights, weekends and holidays.
BASE WORK LOCATION 10/06/22: The position is based at the office in Hunt Valley, MD; “Remote” work environment is a consideration available.
Qualifications
You Have:
- Degree or Technical Certificate in Computer Science or related area (not required) and/or equivalent experience preferred.
- 0 to 1 years’ experience preferred, on the job training provided.
- Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required
- Strong math & verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivation and are hardworking, flexible, and reliable.
- Ability to learn quickly, detailed oriented, take direction, work and communicate effectively with co-workers.
- Exposure to computer operations, methods, monitoring networks, customer service and trouble shooting.
Preferred Experience and/or Education:
- Knowledgeable in technology; Knowledge of horse racing industry a plus; Individual must be open to learn about and understand ‘niche’ industry.
- A degree or Technical Certificate in Computer Science or related area (not required) and/or equivalent experience preferred.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive base salary, bonus opportunity, benefits and consideration for relevance of relocation assistance
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Required to work nights, weekends and holidays, 8 hour shifts, 5 days a week.
- Will be required to obtain applicable industry licenses for multiple jurisdictions – Company will facilitate application and payment processes during first week of employment
Responsibilities
You Will:
- Verify program/betpool information for all hub communities. This includes all pertinent data, i.e. commission rates, proper rounding, minimum payouts, minimum bet values, entries, etc.
- Monitor ITW traffic -- inbound and outbound traffic. Verify ITW connections are established at the proper time. Use menus for basic troubleshooting.
- Monitor error logs and systems alerts, and report errors per reporting guidelines.
- Monitor Communication networks and report issues per reporting guidelines.
- Support RDC operations – Provide support for RDC functionality (RDC techs, Mutuel departments, etc.) Generate ad-hoc reports.
- Verify the accuracy of off-line reporting.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills - excellent oral and written skills - must be willing to provide 24x7 support, including nights, weekends and holidays
