Job Summary:
The permit technician’s job is to process applications for oversize/overweight vehicles.
Job Responsibilities
Order permits for oversize/overweight loads.
Secure escorts
Coordinate with team on routing.
Respond to requests for insurance verification & routing beyond district perimeters.
Communicate with company representatives regarding vehicle size & weight limits, permit issuance procedures, permit limitations, permit provisions, etc.
Coordinate with utility companies & state officials on oversize load movements.
Maintain DOT compliance.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Must pass background check and drug screening.
Must be detail oriented.
Must be capable of working with different computer programs.
3 years of experience with coordinating, dispatching, or scheduling work.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Must be able to work 40 hours a week.
Must have strong communication skills.
A minimum high school diploma required.
