Park Avenue Artists seeks an ambitious, creative and career-oriented person for the position of Management/Booking Assistant, primarily focused on the North American territory.

This position is responsible for supporting the booking department in securing performance engagements at performing arts centers, symphonic halls, universities, clubs, theaters and other performance venues throughout North America for its roster of artists. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintaining accuracy of artist contact records and offer terms in CRM booking system.
  • Maintaining artist calendars with relevant show details.
  • Scheduling meetings for Co-Directors of Booking (and artist managers, when relevant).
  • Creating, issuing and tracking contracts and addendums to the point of full execution for confirmed performances.
  • Creating and sending invoices for show-related payments.
  • Keeping artist bios, riders and marketing assets up to date.
  • Identifying prospective presenters for artist engagements.
  • Attending national and regional conferences. Additional travel may be necessary.

** Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned depending on performance.

Candidates must have a broad spectrum of knowledge and appreciation for music and the performing arts. Communication and impeccable organizational skills, an acute attention to detail and the ability to prioritize are essential. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced environment and show initiative and care in their work. The ability to effectively communicate complete, accurate and timely information throughout the booking process is critical. Constant focus and proper execution of the artists’ individualized booking plans is at the heart of this position.

The ideal candidate will be an instinctive networker with the ability to connect with people of all backgrounds. They will have the ability to engage in meaningful conversation, maintain relationships and relay interest, passion and enthusiasm when working with people both internal and external to the company. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the artist management field, a drive for sales, negotiation and consultation, and a desire for growth in their career.

  • Must be able to travel within North America. Valid driver’s license with the ability to rent a car is highly preferred.
  • Expertise in tools related to Google suite and Microsoft suite. Design skills highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan and prioritize work activity.
  • Reliable team player.
  • Enthusiastic learner with a growth mindset.
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Ability to adjust schedule and be flexible (e.g., arrive early or stay late when requested), and adapt to changes in the work environment.

JOB DETAILS

  • Job Type: Full time.
  • Pay: TBD, commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: Healthcare, 401K, PTO, travel within North America, comp tickets to performances.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, weekends as needed
  • Education: Minimum Bachelors or equivalent
  • Location: New York, NY
  • Work Location: Hybrid (2 days in-person, 3 days remote)
