Position Summary:
Gastamo Group is searching for energetic, responsible and visionary Back of House professionals. Gastamo Group is a locally owned and operated restaurant group in Denver, Colorado with a strong focus on fresh and local ingredients. Our focus is on quality food and hospitality in the communities we serve.
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a scratch-kitchen prep cook, line cook, and dishwasher and will work all three positions depending on scheduling or based on the needs of the day-to-day shift. Candidate must have experience in working with a team and a high level of attention to detail. They will be responsible for the timely preparation of food product, washing dishes, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and maintaining the standard of work. We are a fast-growing company, opening new locations and concepts each year which is creating ample opportunity for growth.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preps assigned items, to include but no limited to; washing raw food products, peeling, dicing, shredding, cutting, and slicing food products.
- When prep is finished: properly label, date, rotate, and store all items properly.
- Adheres to safety and sanitary procedures set forth by management and the health department.
- Prior to service, ensures items needed for shift are stocked and located at designated station.
- Responsible for all facets of assigned station, i.e. hot food, cold food items, dessert. Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes
- Receiving and stocking product.
- Ensures kitchen is clean.
- Performs additional daily cleaning assignments; including stoves, ovens, refrigerators, and storage areas.
- Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils; then placing them in racks to send through dish machine.
- Sorts and stacks clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering.
- Changes dishwater in dish machine as needed.
- Washes pots, pans, and trays by hand.
- Removes trash and takes garbage to dumpster.
- Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area.
- Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
- Sweeps/mops floors.
- Cleans restaurant and restrooms as directed.
- Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and clean.
- Completes other tasks/assignments as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year previous cooking experience.
- Ability to speak and understand English helpful.
